Shot in Tehran, the flick will be Mirzaei’s second feature film and is in its final stages of post-production.

A social drama, ‘Blood of God’ is the story of a homeless drug addict living in the streets, whose recovery process coincides with the first ten days of the month of Muharram.

On the eve of Ashura, someone hands him a box of food and in it he finds an envelope soaked in blood.

Reza Akhlaqi-Rad, Farid Sajjadi Hosseini, Saeed Dakh, Alireza Sanifar, Khosro Ahmadi, Vahid Nafar, Amin Miri, Misaq Jamshidi, Hossein Ghayebi Shabahang, and Shiva Ebrahimi make up the cast of the film.

Founded in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival is an annual event held on the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, celebrating Iranian cinema.

Over the years, the event has played a key role in the development of the Iranian film industry.

This year’s festival will be held from January 30-February 11, 2019 commemorating the 40th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.
